»Das mechanische Auge / Visionen der Medienkunst 1«
With this exhibition, Medienwerkstatt Wien and FLUSS start the annual series "Visions of Media Art",
inspired by artists who went down in history as designers of utopias.
The 2012 exhibition finds its point of departure in Dziga Vertov with his concept of the mechanical eye.
Three current artistic positions – Bernd Oppl, Nicole Pruckermayr/IOhannes m zmölnig and
Jens Sundheim – explore the topical transfers of such historical visions.
